Two Months with the ASR Expert Advisor – A Promising Start
I wrote about the ASR Expert Advisor (EA) after the first month of using it, I am impressed by its ability to consistently identify high-quality trade opportunities and manage positions with impressive discipline. Now, with two full months of trading behind us, the ASR Expert Advisor results continue to reflect strong potential, solid risk management, and a generally consistent upward equity curve.
Let’s look into the performance statistics after two months of uninterrupted operation.
Performance Highlights
- Total Net Profit: $5,802.69
- Gross Profit: $8,939.64
- Gross Loss: $3,136.95
- Profit Factor: 2.85
- Expected Payoff: $113.78 per trade
- Total Trades: 51
- Win Rate: 64.71% (33 winning trades out of 51)
- Short Positions Won: 57.89%
- Long Positions Won: 68.75%
- Max Drawdown: $899.68 (0.90%)
- Relative Drawdown: 0.90%
These numbers highlight one of the most critical factors for long-term Expert Advisor performance: consistency. The ASR Expert Advisor has managed to maintain a stable growth trajectory, even as market conditions shift. We had the Israel / Iran conflict, central banks policy shifts and much more, all of which result in high volatility. While it is still early days for the ASR EA, things are looking good. Let’s have a look at the overall statistics for this account:

Risk and Reward in Balance
The ASR Expert Advisor’s risk management framework is once again demonstrated by the low maximal drawdown of less than 1%. This confirms the Expert Advisor’s ability to avoid oversized losses and keep the equity curve healthy. It should be noted that when I started testing the ASR EA, I was using 1% risk per trade, but quickly reduced the risk to 0.25% (one quarter percent) risk per trade to keep drawdown low.
The largest profit trade came in at $954.82, risking about the same, while the largest loss was -$500.37, showing that even the more significant losses were controlled and did not destabilize the account. This is likely a result of the break-even stop loss functionality, which will likely be changed to a trailing stop in a future release.
Perhaps even more compelling is the average profit per trade, which stood at $270.90 – considerably higher than the average loss of $174.28. This positive skew contributes to the strong profit factor and overall net gain.
How Does This Compare to Industry Standards?
To place these results in context, it’s important to look at how they stack up against key industry benchmarks for algorithmic trading systems, so let’s do that now so we have a way to benchmark the ASR EA with industry standards.
| Metric | ASR Expert Advisor | Industry Average | Commentary |
| Profit Factor | 2.85 | 1.3–1.5 | Exceptional A profit factor above 2 is rare and typically indicates very high-quality strategy performance. It should be noted that it is still early days, so this will likely stabilise at a lower value, as the sample size grows and more data is gathered. |
| Win Rate | 64.71% | 50–60% | Above Average Many trading algorithms run closer to 55%. A 65% win rate shows strong trade selection. |
| Max Drawdown | 0.90% | 5–20% | Very Low Most trading algorithms experience drawdowns over 5% at some point. This is a sign of superior risk management. On this account, I am risking one quarter of one percent per trade, so the low drawdown is a result of this. |
| Expected Payoff | $113.78 | $15–$40 | Outstanding Expected payoff per trade is much higher than the norm, showing fewer but more impactful trades. |
| Trades per Month | ~25 | 100+ (typical high-frequency) | Low-frequency, high-quality ASR prioritizes precision over volume, which is often more sustainable and helps keep fees low. |
The ASR Expert Advisor stands out with its low drawdown (this will change over time), high reward-to-risk ratio, and consistency. This places it closer to elite fund-level risk metrics than typical retail Expert Advisors or even most prop firm strategies.
Streaks and Stability
The ASR Expert Advisor had a maximum consecutive wins streak of 8 trades, with total profits from that streak totalling $1,105.79. The worst consecutive loss streak was 5 trades, resulting in a cumulative drawdown of -$896.94.
It’s worth noting that these drawdowns were handled effectively due to automated loss limits, and the ASR Expert Advisor returned to profitability shortly after. The current balance is now over $101,478, with equity slightly lower due to a minor floating loss of just -$50.63.
On Track for Long-Term Growth
After two months of real-time testing, the ASR Expert Advisor continues to show strength across all key metrics. With a strong profit factor, low drawdown, and a high percentage of profitable trades, it has delivered results that align well with the philosophy behind Pipnotic’s tools: focus, discipline, and quality over quantity.
We’ll continue monitoring the performance closely over the coming months, but the ASR Expert Advisor is well on its way to proving itself as a dependable long-term trading companion.
Stay tuned for more updates and in-depth breakdowns in future posts.
Thank you.
